Founded in 1998, PicoTurbine International began as a small family business. The company quickly became known amongst a small circle of science enthusiasts as a passionate provider of green energy educational materials. Focused on making only the highest quality products and providing customers with exemplary service, the fledgling company was met with respect and appreciation from educators, hobbyists and students alike. In the early days, the company built things slowly and steadily—one phone call, email, or question answered at a time. PicoTurbine fostered and nurtured relationships with customers one by one.
We’ve done some growing since then.
In 2008, Michael Burghoffer acquired PicoTurbine after working for the company for nine years. Things began to pick up the pace and soon our little family of renewable energy enthusiasts began to expand more quickly than ever. Teachers were spreading the word about our products to their colleagues. Hobbyists began sharing the joys of our science kits with one another. Students were responding to the PicoTurbine experience with positivity and curiosity—fascinated by what they were learning and hungry to learn more.
It’s an exciting time to be a part of the PicoTurbine International family.
We’re proud of what we’ve become—a worldwide leader of renewable energy education products and education. But although our family has grown, we’ve held onto the same ideal we began with—service. To our customers, and to our cause of advancing green energy education.
