After School Programs
After school programs have a long tradition of being an excellent way to keep learners stimulated and developing beyond the regular school hours. PicoTurbine is working to craft after school programs for all ages that continue this tradition in the realm of renewable energy. It’s a wonderful opportunity to combine education with recreation and provide enriching opportunities for students after the bell rings.
Beginning in 2010, PicoTurbine is offering after school programs for grades 5-8 in the fields of—
- Wind 101
- Solar 101
Currently, our programs span ten weeks, with 90-minute sessions allotted for each day, totaling 15 hours of curriculum for each course. However, with the pacing guide included you can expand it to many more hours of fun.
Comprehensive programs, limitless options
The programs are comprehensive, touching upon science, math, English, geography, communication and other subjects. PicoTurbine can provide trained instructors to run the programs. Or, we can provide the materials and curriculum to school administrations for use with their in-house faculty.
All after school program curriculum can be used interchangeably with a regular classroom setting. We also offer translation for any language.
Looking to the future
We are currently developing after school programs for grades K-4, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 for biodiesel, tidal power, hydro, geothermal and fuel cell energy.
