Renewable energy sources create electricity in a way that continues to enable us to live, work and advance as people, yet does so in a manner that is cleaner, more sustainable and gentler with our precious planet Earth. Renewable or “green” energy techniques emit little or no carbon dioxide or other air pollutants.
Common renewable energy resources include wind power, solar power, hydropower, fuel cell technology and geothermal power, which is power extracted from heat stored in the Earth. Electrical power is a necessity, but finding ways to create it that are less reliant on fossil fuels will have benefits beyond helping the environment. Green energy development will result in new jobs and less oil we have to buy from foreign countries.
